Ellenborough Park Cheltenham

Set overlooking Cheltenham Racecourse the stunning Ellenborough Park welcomed Becca and Alan for what would be a fun and relaxed day in the Cotswolds. Both families, what can I say? Happy and joyous, celebrating like you should at a wedding. Just another occasion where I struggle to call my job as a wedding photographer, actually working. The day started at Becca's family home and what a welcome, treated like one of the family from the outset. Bridesmaids once again showing men up in the fun ranks. The ceremony followed at the beautiful St. Andrews church in Miserden. Being a winter wedding, we we're welcomed with umbrellas blowing in the wind. It certainly didn't quench the mood that was set during bridal prep.

Alan looking the part in his Naval uniform was waiting patiently for his bride Becca, who looked stunning walking down the aisle. A lovely ceremony was then followed by a little journey onto Ellenborough Park. The evening flowed with some great speeches, with great banter flying around. Then the fun part, chasing guests around the dance floor. These certainly had some top moves. Becca and Alan thank you for the invite to capture your special day, it was an absolute pleasure.

I must give a special mention to Toastmaster Howard Jones who was fantastic with helping the day flow perfectly with humour and authority. Other talented vendors that helped out were: Rob Menzies (photographer), The Flower StudioWedding Days of CheltenhamRegency GroomLavish Hairdressing and Azure Cars.

For the fellow photographers out there, I used two Nikon D750's one with a 35mm 1.4 lens and the other with an 85mm 1.4 for the documentary photos and the 24-70mm 2.8 for the flash work, using an Elinchrom Quadra flash triggered by Pocket Wizard Flex's. Please enjoy the photos below.

The Wood Norton Hotel

Four seasons in one day welcomed me to The Wood Norton Hotel, a fabulous venue in Worcestershire, steeped in history. Clear blue skies to start the day with a heavy storm arriving in the afternoon.  Bridal prep first for me with a fun and super chilled Kelly. Nathan arrived arrived in style,  a yellow New York Taxi  (where these two wonderful people got engaged) from Unique Car Hire.

The ceremony soon followed with some glorious sunshine seeping through to welcome Kelly and her proud Dad down the aisle. A lovely touch to end the ceremony was Nathan's Firemen colleagues escort out towards a glass of champagne. We did manage to get outside before the bad weather came in, to get some photos of the happy couple. Though when the rain did hit Kelly was adamant that she wanted some photos with Nathan on the famous swing. The wellies came on and nothing was going to stop Kelly. What a great sport.

The rest of the day was spent in the lovely Orangery, firstly the wedding breakfast followed by the joyous speeches, with Nathan's best man sharing some great stories with the guests. The fun didn't stop there with these two, my job was made easy just capturing what was put in front of me, I'll just let the photos below do the talking. A special mention must go to Sandie (Planner at The Wood Norton Hotel) I was given free reigns and anything that I needed, Sandie was always on hand.

For the photographers out there. Most of the wedding was photographed using two Nikon D750's one with a 35mm and the other an 85mm lenses. An LED light panel was used for some of the night portrait shots. The cake cut and first dance were captured using a 24/70mm lens plus an SB910 flash gun.

Kelly and Nathan thank you once again for having me along to capture your special day.

Gants Mill wedding

Well, what a glorious venue and what a glorious day!. A Gants Mill wedding in Somerset. Such stunning surroundings, with a relaxed atmosphere. First thing for me was Lindsay's bridal prep at Oak House Somerset . I had a great welcome, probably helped with knowing Lindsay, who looked fantastic. Then it was over to the Mill for the ceremony. Not a cloud in the sky as Lindsay walked to meet Tom, who was looking on. A lovely ceremony followed, with smiles all around. Afterwards myself and the new Mr and Mr's Morris had a little stroll in the gardens for a few relaxed portrait shots. Some very funny speeches, mainly aimed at poor Tom had the wedding party in a joyous mood. Then it was time to dance off the dinner. Obviously a hard act to follow after Lindsay and Tom's awesome moves.

Thank you again for inviting me along to your special day. Others that helped out on the day we're:

Makeup - Lucy Davis.
Hair - Louise Alway.
Florist - Bramble and Wild.
Cake - Helen Chesterman.
Dress and Shoes - Krystle Brides.
Magician - Warren Singer.
Band - Soul Direction

Dan Morris Photography wedding photographer Cotswolds

Wedding Photographer Cotswolds

Lost for words is how I'll start my roundup of  as a wedding photographer Cotswolds. An absolute whirlwind, witnessing so many special moments and being in the privileged position of capturing these moments for so many amazing couples and families. The gratitude shown and the welcome from total strangers again proves why there is no other job that I would rather be doing. So from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for putting your trust in me and I hope that I have lived up to all your expectations.

A few highlights for myself was shooting a wedding for a Norwegian friend in Stavanger. Giving a bride a lift to the ceremony when the wedding car broke down and being the only person able to do up one hundred buttons on a wedding dress due to having small hands with no nails. Sadly no pictures were taken of this event. Always capture the moment!

Another big thank you must go to family and friends that have put up with my slight obsession and kept me sane along the way. Also to my peers that I admire in the industry, that have become good friends this year.

Less about me and more of some lovely moments that me and Holly have been able to capture for lots of wonderful people. There are so many photos that we would love to share with you all and choosing a select few wasn't easy to say the least. !  Please take  look below.

Wedding Photographer Cotswolds - Highlights 2016

Manor By The Lake Cheltenham

Manor By The Lake Cheltenham, a wonderful array of colours for a Cotswolds wedding. I met Laura and Alex at the wedding showcase at the Manor, instantly I could tell how relaxed they were and how much fun their wedding would be, I wasn't disappointed. With Laura looking amazing and the bridesmaids a close second.

The morning started for myself at Laura's house, all I will say about this is what a fun loving bunch of cool ladies. A friend of mine Rob ( one to watch) who has been second shooting for me this year had the pleasure of capturing the groom prep. Next it was on to the beautiful Holy Trinity Badgeworth where a proud dad walked his happy daughter down the aisle for the ceremony. Followed by a short car journey to the Manor, courtesy of Satin and Lace Wedding Cars.
The picturesque lake gave us a lovely background for some early evening shots. Soon followed by the craziness that is the bouquet throw, again proving how much fun these ladies were. (see photos) Everyone else made their way into the main hall for the evening party. The room as always looked fantastic with flowers, funky lights and table decor. More antics then followed, I'll let the pictures tell the story.
A special thank you to Laura and Alex for choosing me to photograph their wedding day.
