A Wedding Photographer’s Dream on the Isle of Wight Wedding
When two fellow wedding photographers, Sian and Rafe, asked me to photograph their wedding on the Isle of Wight, I was deeply honoured. As a wedding photographer myself, being chosen by peers to document one of the most important days of their lives is a huge privilege. Their venue of choice? The stunning Ventnor Botanical Gardens, a super wedding venue nestled on the island’s southern coast, filled with tropical plants, sweeping sea views, and natural colourful beauty at every turn.
Rafe, originally from the Isle of Wight, brought the wedding back home to his roots, while Sian joined him from mainland England. Their day was beautifully relaxed, full of emotion, colour, especially Sian's epic red wedding dress. As an Isle of Wight wedding photographer, moments like these are why I love what I do.
Beyond the wedding itself, I spent four incredible days exploring the island—camera always in hand. The Isle of Wight is a treasure trove for street photography. From quiet seaside towns to bustling markets and cliffside walks, every corner has a story waiting to be told. Capturing everyday life alongside the wedding made it the perfect photographers dream trip.
Ventnor Botanical Gardens
If you're planning a wedding on the Isle of Wight and looking for a photographer who captures both the big emotions and the hidden unscripted moments, I’d love to be part of your journey. Whether it's a celebration at Ventnor Botanical Gardens, a clifftop elopement, or a laid-back beach wedding, this island is magic and I highly recommend visiting if you get the chance..
Here are. few of my favourite places that I visited. The Needles – the Iconic chalk stacks rising from the sea. Perfect for dramatic coastal landscapes. Shanklin Old Village – Thatched cottages, narrow lanes, and quaint charm. Great for street photography and I also stumbled across the awesome Babushka Books, an amazing book shop. Then there was Cowes – A bustling harbour town, especially lively during sailing events. Ideal for candid street photography. Please enjoy the wedding photos below and check out how Sian and Rafe handled being the other side of the camera.
