Dublin Street Photographer

Capturing the Pulse of the Fair City Dublin

There is a specific rhythm to Dublin that you don’t find anywhere else in the world. As a Dublin street photographer, I have spent countless hours walking these pavements, chasing the unique Atlantic light that cuts through the Liffey and capturing the candid moments that define Irelands capital. Maybe with a pint or two of Guinness at Temple Bar along the way. I was inspired by watching Man on Bridge, a documentary about Arthur Fields who was a street photographer in Dublin that captured thousands of photos of people on O'connell Bridge.

For me, street photography isn't just about observation; it is about participation and community. In this post, I want to share some recent frames from the streets of Dublin, update you on my recent talks and walks, and share a massive announcement about the future of our global community.

The Texture of Dublin Streets

Dublin is a city of contrasts—ancient brickwork meets modern glass, and quiet morning solitude meets the roar of a busy Temple Bar evening.

When I am out shooting, I look for the geometry in the chaos. Whether it’s the shadow play near the Docklands or the raw human connection on Grafton Street, being a street photographer in Dublin means being ready for the weather and the mood to change in a heartbeat.

Building the Photography Community in Ireland

Beyond the lens, my passion lies in education and connecting with other creators. I recently had the incredible honor of speaking on stage at Doc Day here in Dublin. Sharing my philosophy on documentary and street work with such a dedicated audience was a highlight of my career so far.

It is one thing to talk about photography, but it is another to do it together. I’ve recently led two separate street photography walks through the city. There is nothing quite like hitting the pavement with a group of like minded photographers, scouting for light, and seeing how different eyes interpret the same scene.

Upcoming: Dublin Street Photography Festival

The scene here is alive and growing. I am thrilled to confirm that I will be attending the upcoming Dublin Street Photography Festival. It is a fantastic opportunity to see world-class work and connect with the local community. If you are around, let’s grab a coffee and talk about gear, composition, or just the state of the art. Or just to capture the humour of Dublin.

Introducing: THE EDGE

Finally, I have some massive news. I am proud to announce that I am a Co-founder of THE EDGE, a brand new street photography awards community.

We built THE EDGE to be more than just a competition; it is a global hub designed to recognize and elevate talent from around the world. We are looking for the boldest, most authentic visions in modern street photography. Whether you are shooting in Dublin, Tokyo, Delhi, London or New York, we want to see your perspective of Street Photography life through your lens.
