Wedding Photography At The Queens House In Greenwich

As a wedding photographer, there are some celebrations that stay with you long after the final gallery is delivered. Binutha and Neil’s spectacular wedding day at the Queen’s House in Greenwich, London, was exactly one of those moments. From the incredible layers of personal history to the striking blend of cultural traditions against a classic British backdrop, it was an absolute dream to capture.

A Story That Began on the Isle of Wight

One of my favorite things about this job is how the universe loops couples back into my life. I first met Binutha and Neil on the Isle of Wight, where I was photographing a wedding for a wonderful couple, Rafe and his bride Sian. At that wedding, Neil was standing proudly as Rafe’s best man.

Fast forward to this celebration, and the favor was officially repaid! It was incredibly heartwarming to see Rafe step into the best man role for Neil this time around. Having that kind of deep rooted friendship present makes for the absolute best, most authentic candid moments, the exact energy I love to bring out in my Queen’s House Greenwich wedding photography.

Stepping Into Royal History at the Queen's House

If you are looking for a historic London wedding venue that stops guests in their tracks, the Queen’s House is unmatched.

Designed by the legendary architect Inigo Jones in 1616, it was commissioned by King James I for his wife, Anne of Denmark. As the first fully classical building in England, it broke away from traditional red-brick Tudor architecture, offering a crisp, white, symmetrical masterpiece instead.

For a photographer, the venue is a paradise of soft, natural light. Between the iconic, geometric marble floor of the Great Hall and the famous Tulips Stairs, the first geometric, self-supporting spiral staircase in Britain, every square inch of this property whispers elegance. Check out some of the photos below.

A Celebration of Heritage and Color

While the architecture of the Queen's House is beautifully minimalist and classical, Binutha and Neil brought it to life with a spectacular explosion of color. To honor Binutha’s family heritage, the couple and many of their guests wore stunning, traditional Indian wedding attire.

The juxtaposition was breathtaking. Seeing the rich, intricate embroidery, deep jewel tones, and vibrant silks of traditional Indian wear moving through the stately, monochrome halls of a 17th-century British palace was visual magic. The bright attire popped beautifully against the clean lines of the venue, making every portrait look like a piece of fine art.
